La vie érotique d’une chatte Parisienne en Russie
Reading is sex for the brain….
Whenever I travel I always take at least 7-10 books with me. All carefully selected to cater for my changing whims. More often, the Ninja packs a few for me to read as he is more widely read than I am.
At least one classical work of fiction (La Bruyère, Les Caractères). One work of erotica (Alan Moore, 25,000 Years of Erotic Freedom). One biography (Daniel Cordier, Jean Moulin: La république des catacombes I). One travel book (The collected letters of Gertrude Bell). A book on philosophy (Michel de Montaigne, Les Essais). One book on the country I am visiting (Emmanuel Carrère, A Russian Novel). One book on history (Bettany Hughes, The Hemlock Cup). And just as importantly a handful of French graphic comic books (Blake & Mortimer).
I manage to switch off when I travel by plane or train or by taxi or in a stalled elevator.
Nothing is as precious as finding the time to read.
